Brummie.org was set up in August 2001 as a community venture for people living in the Birmingham area
of the UK and wishing to find out some of the things that are going on here and to make contact or announcements.
The site has been inspired by and is indebted to Craigslist, a
flourishing San Francisco Bay area community site with a conscience. And we have used
phpWebSite © The Web Technology Group,
Appalachian State University, licensed under the GNU GPL.
The Internet, contrary to some recent practices, has a long and proud history of cooperation and generosity
that we have been able to benefit from in setting up this site. We hope that our users, in their turn, will wish
to contribute to this site with the same spirit of sharing and goodwill.
